After only 30 days of inactivity your mail will be deleted by Microsoft and the sender will not be informed.

What does it mean when my account is marked "inactive"?
Currently, if you do not sign in to your MSN Hotmail account for 30 days, or if you do not sign-in within the first 10 days, your account will be marked "inactive." Stored e-mail and addresses will be permanently deleted, and inbound mail will be refused. Your .NET Passport will still function, and your MSN Hotmail e-mail name will be reserved. To re-activate your account, simply go to
http://www.Hotmail.com and enter your Sign-In name and password. You will then be able to send and receive e-mail using MSN Hotmail once again. If your account stays "inactive" for an additional 90 days, it will be permanently deleted.
